1983 – Present Secretary-Treasurer, Joyner Engineers & Trainers, Inc.
Lisa Joyner is the principal owner of JET. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, including management of the financial and administrative aspects of the business. Her particular responsibilities include payroll for off-site employees and subcontractors, and dealing with tax payment and government regulations. Other employee responsibilities include insurance and retirement plan administration for JET’s employees. Customer responsibilities include invoice generation, non-technical contract writing and negotiation, and payment of bills. Administrative tasks include e-mail, phone and written communications, managing the computer system, advertising, ordering office supplies and managing the office.
1996 – 2000 Executive Director, Crisis Line of Central Virginia
Crisis Line is a non-profit organization with a staff of ten and a volunteer staff of 100. It provides telephone crisis management and referral to a wide area of Central Virginia as well as a teen hot line, and a telephone and face to face sexual assault prevention program. Responsibilities included overseeing all operations of the agency. Staff responsibilities included interviews, hiring and evaluation, and volunteer recruitment and training. Office responsibilities included fund raising, budgeting, grant writing, advertising, and working with the Board of Directors.
1979 – 1982 Assistant Alumnae Director, Randolph-Macon Woman’s College
Responsibilities include assisting the Alumnae Director, scheduling and assistance with class reunions and annual council meetings, overseeing R-MWC’s continuing education program, and editing the Classnotes section of the quarterly R-MWC Alumnae Bulletin.
